🐦 Halloween Fun, Kemptown Markets & a Sweet New Spot

Halloween in full swing: Kemptown markets, a sweet new bakehouse, Brighton brands we love, and loads of weekend events.

Happy Halloween Brighton!

From trick-or-treat trails on the Pier to live mariachi at Shelter Hall, Brighton’s going all out for Halloween weekend. Whether you’re dressing up for a big night out, sinking into the sofa with a box of gooey New York–style cookies from the city’s newest bakery, or heading seaside for some family-friendly fun and a not-so-scary Kemptown market stroll, we’re wrapping up October exactly as it should: bold, sweet, and just a little bit spooky.

Here’s what’s squawking this weekend:

🎃 Halloween parties, ghost walks, and eerie late-night fun across the city

🎪 Kemptown Village Food and Maker’s Market

⏰ Sat, 10am-3pm
📍 Kemptown Village, Brighton

Kemptown’s bustling street market returns this Saturday with a handpicked mix of Brighton’s best bakers, makers and local artists. Expect everything from artisan bread and local honey to prints, ceramics and quirky handmade gifts.

There’s a real community feel to it, the sort of market where you’ll bump into friends, have a chat over a coffee and walk away with a tote full of things you never knew you needed. Perfect for a relaxed Saturday wander before lunch.

🎃 Kidz With Attitude - Halloween Special

⏰ Sun, 12pm (Doors 12pm)
📍 Komedia, Brighton

Kidz With Attitude is back with a spooky Halloween special, filling Komedia’s basement with hip-hop, funk and soul for kids and their grown-ups. Expect non-explicit bangers, Halloween tunes and an atmosphere that turns family time into a proper daytime club session.

With DJs, dance-offs, vinyl giveaways and face painting, it’s the ultimate family-friendly rave where everyone can get their groove on. Music’s played at safe volumes, the bar’s open, and fancy dress is highly encouraged. Recommended for kids aged 4+, with all the energy of a real night out, just before nap time.

🎡 Frighton Palace Pier - Spooktacular Family Fun

⏰ Fri-Sun, 10am-4pm
📍 Brighton Palace Pier

The Pier is going full ghost mode this weekend with a family-friendly festival of tricks, treats and seaside magic. Expect puppet shows, mask making, face painting and a proper trick-or-treat trail weaving through Brighton’s most iconic landmark.

With pumpkin-hued bunting fluttering in the breeze and the smell of doughnuts in the air, it’s the perfect mix of spooky and sweet. Bring the kids, grab some candy floss, and enjoy a day of frightfully good fun beside the sea.

💀 Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos)

⏰ Fri-Sat
📍 Shelter Hall, Brighton

Shelter Hall’s bringing Mexican flair to the seafront this weekend with two days of music, colour and celebration. Expect live mariachi, bright papel picado decorations and a feast of tacos, tequila and traditional flavours served with flair.

It’s not a sombre affair, this is a joyful explosion of sound, dance and life, honouring loved ones past and present. Add a sunset sea view, and you’ve got one of Brighton’s most unique cultural celebrations of the year.

🎭 The Talented Mr Ripley

⏰ Fri-Sat, 7:30pm
📍 Theatre Royal, Brighton

Patricia Highsmith’s dark psychological thriller steps out of the shadows and onto the Brighton stage. The story follows Tom Ripley, a small-time conman whose taste for wealth and sophistication spirals into a web of lies and obsession.

With stylish staging, tension you could slice with a knife and the kind of slow-burn suspense that’ll keep you on edge long after the curtain falls. A must for theatre lovers who like their drama with a sinister twist.

🎃 Saturday Night Halloween Party

⏰ Sat, 7pm
📍 North Laine Brewhouse, Brighton

North Laine Brewhouse is turning up the mischief with a full Halloween takeover, fancy dress, cocktails and plenty of late-night laughs. Think eerie décor, lively beats and a dancefloor packed with vampires, zombies and witches nursing craft beers.

It’s one of those nights where Brighton’s social energy shines brightest - a bit messy, very fun and unapologetically spooky. Whether you’re out for a quick pint or a full-on fright fest, this is your Saturday night sorted.

🌈 Toby Tiger

Brighton’s own Toby Tiger has stitched up another success, the colourful childrenswear brand was recently named one of the UK’s 100 most inspiring small businesses for 2025 by the Small Business Saturday campaign. Founded in 1998 by designer Zoe Mellor, the family-run label has grown from a tiny Brighton boutique into a leading name in organic, vibrant clothing for babies and kids, even expanding into Europe in 2021.

Step inside their only physical store in the Laines and you’ll instantly see why they’ve become such a local family favourite. Walls of bright colours, rails full of playful prints, and shelves of cheerful toys and books make it feel more like a celebration than a shop. Their signature Seagull print, inspired by our own noisy mascot, captures the freedom and fun at the heart of the brand.

Their business is now primarily online, where, alongside their main range, you’ll find thoughtful gifts, baby and kids’ clothes, toys, and seasonal pieces for Halloween and Christmas. As well as championing organic and sustainable fashion, they have their clever Pre-Loved system, a circular way to shop that lets you trade in items once they’re outgrown for store credit or vouchers.

Still proudly independent and rooted in Brighton’s North Laine, Toby Tiger continues to champion ethical fashion, sustainability, and a love of colour, proving that our small businesses really can make a big impact in Brighton and beyond.

🥃 Cut Your Wolf Loose

If whisky’s your love language, this is your place. Tucked away on Trafalgar Street, Cut Your Wolf Loose is Brighton’s cult whisky bar, part bottle shop, part creative hub, and 100% cool. The founders have turned a 250-year-old shop into a whisky playground, working with top distillers, street artists, and fellow obsessives to make it a whisky ethusiasts dream.

Sip your way through hundreds of whiskies by the glass, browse rare single casks, and check out the ever-changing mural in the outdoor seating area, repainted for every new bottle release. They’re celebrating their 4th birthday this week too, with a free highball and pizza from Tony’s.

🍪 New Opening! - Enchanted Cookies

Brighton’s newest online bakery Enchanted Cookies has some of the most Instagram-worthy cookies we’ve ever seen. They officially opened for orders earlier this week, serving up New York style cookies that are super chunky and gooey, and look straight out of a very sweet dream.

The launch menu is stacked: the ‘KB’ stuffed with Kinder Bueno, ‘Biscookie’ with molten Biscoff crème, ‘PB&C’ for peanut butter and choc lovers, ‘Arabian Gold’ inspired by Dubai’s iconic choc bar, and the ‘OG Choc Chip’, buttery, thick, and sprinkled with sea salt.

You can snag a box for £20 this week, with local collection or delivery across Brighton.
