🥩 Flat Iron Brighton

I first discovered Flat Iron after visiting their Covent Garden restaurant a few years back while looking for somewhere affordable to eat in London (not an easy task). The value and quality of their dishes, especially the steak is very impressive, simple, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. So there’s no surprise there were huge queues outside for their free steak giveaway on opening day.

You can’t go wrong with their Flat Iron Steak (£15), but there’s plenty more on offer including the Green Chilli Cheeseburger (£14), Scottish Bavette (£18), and Wagyu Steak of the Day (£23), as well as a variety of sides like the Truffled Mac and Cheese, which is a must-order, for obvious reasons. They’ve also got a great drinks list featuring well-priced wines, cocktails, and local beers like the previusly featured UnBarred’s Joosy Pale Ale.

The new Brighton restaurant sits inside a charming Ship Street townhouse with wooden panelling, marble bar, and skylights filled with hanging plants. It’s stylish but relaxed, and perfect for a casual dinner or date night. With a meal of a steak, side and glass of wine running you roughly £30, Flat Iron Brighton delivers proper steakhouse quality without the usual steak dinner price tag.
